The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of CVRT Sir C V Raman Institute of Technology and Sciences, located behind Bharat Petrol Bunk, Anantapur Road, Tadipatri, Ananthapuramu District, Andhra Pradesh, plays a vital role in inculcating the spirit of community service and social responsibility among students. The institution is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur (JNTUA), Ananthapuramu. Additionally, the institute holds NAAC B++ accreditation, is ISO certified, and is recognized under Section 2(f) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act of 1956. The institute has also actively participated in the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE).

Our NSS unit has been approved by JNTUA and is dedicated to organizing various community development programs, awareness campaigns, and social welfare activities. The NSS unit of the institute comprises 100 dedicated NSS volunteers, who actively participate in various initiatives aimed at societal development.

Objectives of the NSS Unit

• To instill a sense of social responsibility among students.

• To create awareness on important social, environmental, and health-related issues.

Major Activities Conducted by the NSS Unit

The NSS unit of (CVRT) Sir C V Raman Institute of Technology and Sciences has organized and participated in numerous programs, including but not limited to:

1. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Conducted cleanliness drives within the campus and nearby areas.

2. Blood Donation Camps

Organized in collaboration with local blood banks to support medical needs.

3. Tree Plantation Drives

Promoted afforestation and environmental conservation.

4. Awareness Programs

Sessions on health, hygiene, and social issues such as drug abuse, women’s empowerment, and road safety.

5. Rural Development Activities

Conducted outreach programs in nearby villages to educate and support rural communities.

6. Health Camps

Free medical check-ups and awareness sessions on preventive healthcare.

7. Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Activities

Assisted in relief efforts during natural calamities.

8. National Festivals and Important Days Celebrations

Observed days like Independence Day, Republic Day, NSS Day, and International Yoga Day with special activities.

9. Digital Literacy Programs

Educated underprivileged communities on digital awareness and online safety.

10. Covid-19 Awareness and Relief Activities

Distributed masks, sanitizers, and essentials during the pandemic.
